Acknowledgments
I hope you enjoy the second book in the Kings Reapers MC series. This story emotionally drained me, but I’m so excited for you to read it and tell me what you think.
A big thank you to my amazing editor, Rebecca. You have such a huge job when you get my manuscripts because not only are you correcting my terrible grammar and spellings but also watching for the English/American words because who knew there were so many different spellings and sayings! I am so grateful for your help and input.
Thanks to my amazing family. To my husband, who always supports everything I do, even if sometimes he thinks I’m crazy. To my kids, who don’t give me grief about the amount of time I spend staring at my screen. To my girlfriends, Fay, Kelly, and Emma, for giving me wine and keeping me smiling even on my darkest days. I love you all!
Finally, thanks to Knox Publishing, for giving me the chance to work with you and alongside some other amazing authors. It is a dream come true. I love the journey I’m on!

Chapter One
Eva
I spin around, letting my skirt flare out in a dramatic movie kind of way. The wine’s making my head a little fuzzy, but I’m leaving the Kings Reapers clubhouse tonight and I’m determined to make it a night to remember. After spending the last few weeks here, I’m sad about leaving.
Lake whistles and I blush. I’ve been trying to put myself on his radar for over a week and this is the first time he’s made me think he’s interested, and I know exactly why that is—Cree isn’t around.
“Mama, you look hot!” He grins, stepping back and looking me up and down. “Where are you going?”
My best friend, Anna, leans into my ear and whispers, “Should I tell him you wore it for him?” I nudge her gently with my elbow and she laughs.
“Lake,” mutters Riggs, the club president and Anna’s husband. His tone is a warning, which makes me more determined to flirt my ass off. Cree isn’t even here for my last night and still, no one can come near me because of him.
Lake must think the same as me because he looks around and then shrugs his huge tattooed shoulders. “Pres, he isn’t here,” he says.
“That is not the fuckin’ point, brother, and you know it,” mutters Riggs. Anna distracts me by handing me another glass of wine. “You sure you should have another?” Riggs says, eyeing Anna as she drinks half her glass in one go.
“Just for that comment, I’m opening another bottle,” she hisses. Riggs rolls his eyes and goes back to staring at his cell phone. “It’s bad enough we’re having to spend Eva’s last night in The Windsor because you refuse to let me out of your sight,” she continues, but he doesn’t look like he’s listening.
Lake stares at me then tips his head towards the door and heads outside. I check that no one saw before following him. I find him resting against the wall with a cigarette in his mouth. “You’re leaving us,” he says and grins.
“About time. These last few weeks have been hell,” I joke. My feelings about staying with the Kings are quite the opposite. I’ve enjoyed being surrounded by lots of bikers and their families. Riggs locked the club down after threats from Anna’s ex caused them problems. He kindly took me and my mum under his wing too and I’ll always be grateful for that.
“You’ll miss lusting after me over breakfast.” He smirks.
“But at least in my own house, I can eat my breakfast in my underwear if I please. No one’s around to judge me.” I smirk and his eyes heat.
“Comments like that’ll get me shot,” he says.
“You’re not the type to get scared, are you?” I ask and then I purposely run my tongue over my lower lip. He grins because he knows what I’m doing. “Live dangerously,” I add.
He laughs to himself and crushes his cigarette under his boot. Without warning, his hand shoots out and takes me by the wrist. He pulls me to him, and I crash against his body. My hands instantly rest against his strong, muscled chest, and his hands go into my hair. “I’m going to Hell anyway, so . . . ”
His lips crash against mine. I almost melt into a puddle at his feet right here. It’s a toe-curling, commanding kind of kiss with the right kind of gentle. When he releases me, it takes me a second to re-open my eyes and remember to breathe again. “Oh fuck,” he mutters. He’s staring past me, so I look back over my shoulder to see Cree watching us.
“Eva, go inside,” whispers Lake.
“No,” I hiss. “I haven’t done anything wrong. Why is everyone so worried about upsetting Cree? He hates me.”
“Eva, go,” he repeats more firmly.
I roll my eyes and stroll back towards the bar entrance, passing Cree slowly and giving him my best dead eye. It’s a waste—he doesn’t bother to look at me, too busy glaring at Lake.
Back inside, I drop down next to Anna. “What’s wrong with you?” she asks.
“I kissed Lake,” I say, and Anna and Riggs exchange a look. “And Cree turned up and ruined the moment. How am I ever going to find my Prince Charming if Cree keeps turning up and grunting at anyone who so much as looks in my direction? He’s so rude,” I huff. Riggs stands abruptly and rushes outside. “Geez, where’s the fire,” I mutter.
“You know this will cause problems between Lake and Cree?” asks Anna.
“Why?” I groan. “Why is it that he thinks I’m not good enough for any of his brothers? Am I
that bad, Anna?” I almost screech. “I know people have standards, but seriously, I’ve seen some of the skanks those guys bring home and I really don’t think I’m that bad.”
“Eva, I’ve told you before, he doesn’t think you’re not worthy. He thinks you’re too good. I think he’s sweet,” says Anna with a sad smile. “Give him a break. His heart’s in the right place.” A shadow falls over our table and Anna smiles awkwardly. “Hi, Cree.”
I huff out loud and fold my arms, turning my back to him slightly. “I’ll take you home,” he growls in a deep, sexy voice. I give myself a mental pep talk for thinking anything about Cree is sexy. “Eva,” he hisses impatiently.
I look up at him, surprised. “Me?” I ask. “I’m not going home.”
“You ain’t going back to Lake’s bed, so I’ll make sure you get home safe. Get up and walk or I’ll take you outta here screaming, makes no difference to me.”
Anna pats my knee and smiles sympathetically. “I was gonna head back now anyway, so it makes sense. I think we’ve drunk way too much.”
I raise a brow and give Cree a defiant look. “I choose to go screaming,” I say, knowing full well he won’t follow through on his threat. The guy can hardly speak two words to me unless it’s an insult or an order.
“Oh, Eva,” Anna says then sighs.
“Fine by me,” he grumbles, taking my wrist. Within seconds, I’m hanging upside down, looking at Cree’s ass. “‘Night Anna,” he adds.
“Put me down,” I hiss, holding my skirt over my butt. “Cree!” He ignores me and continues out into the cold air. A few of the guys standing outside whistle and call out to Cree. Clearly, they think this caveman’s behaviour is how all women want to be carried around. Not one of them steps forwards to ask if I’m okay. Traitors.
I spot Lake sitting on the ground with his knees apart, spitting blood onto the floor, and I offer a sympathetic smile. I know I said to live dangerously, but I didn’t intend for that to happen.
Cree stops and lowers me to the ground. He plops a bike helmet onto my head and bangs it on top until it slips into place. He climbs onto his bike and waits for me to get on. I look from the bike then down at my skirt. “I can’t go on the bike.”
“Sure, you can.”
“Cree, everyone will see my underwear.” His eyes roam over my legs. He takes my hand and pulls me to him. In one swift movement, I’m sitting facing him with my legs over his and my vagina practically pressed against his crotch. I blush, thankful that he can’t see my cheeks. He takes my hands and puts them on his waist.
“Just hold me here,” he says into a microphone through my helmet. “Don’t touch anywhere else.”
“You’re quite safe, Cree,” I snap. “I’m not going to ravish you.” What an ass! Like I’d want to touch him!
Cree manoeuvres through the London traffic with ease, and a few minutes later, he stops outside my house and turns the bike engine off. “I’ll come and check it’s safe,” he mutters, lifting me from him.
Inside, my house smells musty. Cree does a sweep of the place. He’s so over the top, but that’s how all the Kings are. I’ve only been gone a few weeks, but I haven’t been back here at all to open up the windows. “Did you hit Lake?” I eventually ask.
Cree opens my fridge and pulls out a bottle of water. He unscrews the cap and hands it to me. “Drink.”
I sigh. “I’ll drink if you answer me.” He’s always so bossy.
“Yes” is all he says.
“Why?”
“Drink,” he repeats, and I sigh again. I take a few mouthfuls of water.
“I gave an order and he broke it.”
“Because he kissed me?” I ask, outraged.
“Drink.” I take a few more mouthfuls and force it down despite my body wanting to repel it.
“I kissed him,” I say. “It was my fault. I encouraged him to break your stupid rule.”
“I know. I saw.”
“So why did you hit him?” I screech.
“Because I can’t punish you for it. Drink.”
I slam the bottle down on the counter and water splashes out. “I don’t want to fucking drink, Cree.”
“Watch your mouth,” he says sternly.
“Fuck you. You make me curse because you drive me nuts. What did I ever do to you? Why do you hate me? If I want to fuck Lake, that’s my business!” I yell.
Cree moves fast around the counter and gets in my face. His hand goes to my throat and I hit the wall with a gentle thud. It’s not a threatening hold, and I feel heat light up my body. Cree’s only ever held my hand once and I put that down to the fact I’d been mugged and he happened to be at the hospital when I arrived.
His lips are inches from my own, and suddenly, all the hate I feel for him hits me in a different way. Lust ignites something inside of me and I find myself wanting . . . needing him to kiss me. He tightens his grip slightly on my neck. His breathing is shallow, and his eyes darken as he stares into mine. “You will not fuck Lake,” he whispers. “Stay away from my brothers.”
“Even you?” I whisper and I feel our lips almost touching.
“Especially me,” he replies.
“Why?” I lift my hand tentatively with the urge to touch his face, but Cree moves his head away slightly and slams his hand over mine so that it hits the wall.
“Don’t,” he warns.
“Why?” I repeat.
“You want to kiss me?” he asks, and I nod slowly. He smirks and steps back, releasing me. I miss the heat of his body straight away. “I just watched you stick your tongue down Lake’s throat and now you want me? Fuck, Eva. Get some class.”
My mouth falls open in shock as I stare at Cree’s retreating back. The front door opens and then slams shut as he leaves me stunned. I didn’t misread the signals—he wanted to kiss me too. What the hell is his problem?
Cree
I release the breath I’d been holding. Having Eva pressed up against me like that got me thinking all kinds of things. I start my bike and head in the direction of Shelly’s house. It’s a risk, but I need to release this tension, and she’s just as fucked up as I am.
I check out her parking spaces. There’s only her car, so I head around the back and look through her kitchen window. She’s at the breakfast table staring at her laptop. The woman never stops working. I let myself in, and she’s so engrossed in her work that she doesn’t hear me until I have her hair in my hand and I’m unfastening my belt. “Fuck, Cree,” she hisses. “You scared the shit outta me.” I push my hand into her silk nightdress and grope her breasts. “Callum could have been here,” she adds.
“He isn’t though, so shut the fuck up and stop pretending you ain’t turned on,” I hiss. She stands, but before she can touch me, I turn her away from me and bend her over the table. I hold her hands behind her back and pull out a piece of rope from my back pocket. I secure her hands and then release my erection and sheath myself with a condom. I spit on my hand and rub over her entrance. She bucks against the table as I push into her hard. I pull her upright and hold her against me, fucking up into her fast. Her silk nightdress falls with the force of my thrusts, exposing her breasts.
“Oh shit,” she cries, and I press my hand over her mouth.
“Shh, you’ll wake the kids,” I hiss, and a muffled sob escapes her as an orgasm rips through her. I wait for her shudders to subside and then begin a punishing pace to reach my own release. All I can think about is Eva—her fucking laugh and the way she throws her head back, and her green-blue eyes when she stares at me with such hate that I swear fire burns in them. I come on a roar. Fuck the kids, it’s not like they’re mine.
I remove the condom into tissue and shove it in my back pocket. I can’t risk Shelly’s husband finding out. It’s a complication I don’t need. She straightens her nightdress, but there’s no disguising that just fucked look. “Callum’s not home this evening. You could stay,” she says with hope in her voice. I shake my head and move for the door. Our arrangement
works for us both and I’m not about to change anything by spending the night with her.
I spend an hour riding around, then find myself back outside of Eva’s. There’s nobody around, so I get off the bike and check out Eva’s garden. I want to make sure she’s safe. I move the potted plant, hoping she’s not that obvious, but when I see the spare front door key there, I groan. She’s so fuckin’ innocent and trusting.
I slip the key in the lock and go inside. The lights are out and there’s no sign of Eva downstairs. I tuck the key into my back pocket and go upstairs quietly. Eva’s bedroom door is ajar and I push it open further. Laying on her back with her arms above her head, she takes my breath away. My eyes roam over her body. Her naked breasts rise and fall with her breaths and she’s wearing the kind of red lace panties I would love to rip off. Her sheets lay crumpled on the floor because she always kicks them off. I settle in the chair at the end of her bed and watch her sleep. It’s my favourite thing to do.
Chapter Two
Eva
Monday comes too quickly and I check myself one last time in the mirror. I’d taken the last four weeks off from the modelling agency where I work as a P.A. Today is my first day back.
The NewVision Model Agency is based in central London, so I take the tube and arrive twenty minutes early. It’s a small office, but we have a lot of clients on the books. I push the door and Kyle squeals in delight. “Thank fuck you’re back, darling.” He air-kisses me. “The dragon boss isn’t in yet, but rest assured she’s on her way.”
