This is a follow on from Rebellion books one and two. To understand the characters fully it would be helpful to read the first two books before this one.

  Prologue

I step through the door to the clubhouse, my arms laden down with bags. I spot Hulk, the club's VP and Ace, the president, sitting by the bar. Ace smiles. “You been shopping?” he asks. I don’t miss the way Hulk rolls his eyes in irritation when Anton follows me inside.

“This woman is a shopaholic,” Anton mutters.

“You letting the mafia buy your shit?” Hulk snaps, glaring at me.

“Oh, she worked hard for it, Hulk,” smirks Anton. “Didn’t you, Piper?”

Hulk growls. “I wasn’t talking to you.” The air is thick with tension. Ace leans into Hulk and whispers something to him. I hope it’s something that will calm his jealous ass down, but the glint in Hulk’s eye tells me this will end in tears. Most likely mine.

“I’ve changed my mind, Piper.” Hulk blocks my path. “I love you. I was wrong for turning you away because I’ve loved you all along. I just didn’t know how to say it.” My eyes widen. Hulk’s never said those words in the whole ten years that I’ve loved him. “So I’m laying it out there, Piper. I love you. I want us to try.”

I look at Anton and then back to Hulk. My words are stuck somewhere between my brain and my mouth, and nothing is coming out, despite me opening and closing my mouth like a goldfish.

“Well?” Hulk asks and I see the anguish on his face. I doubt he’s ever put himself out there like this, and a few months back, I’d have delighted in this moment. So much has happened recently. My heart twists.

“I-Its-I-” I begin, but still, the words won’t come.

Anton suddenly laughs. It’s the cruel laugh that I’ve become used to hearing a lot recently. My heart is already beating out of my chest, but when Anton steps an inch closer to my side, it threatens to jump out of my chest. “Well, Piper-” he prompts. “We’re all waiting.”

“Anton,” I mumble. “Please don’t.” My eyes plead with him, but he’s already delighting in my torture, and I know without a doubt that he’s going to blurt everything out.

“Please don’t what?” he smirks. “This is the moment you’ve been waiting for, isn’t it? That's what it's all been about.” His expression is cold and he drops the bags to the floor. “So put him out of his misery.”

Silent tears roll down my cheeks, and Hulk suddenly drops my hand and takes a step back. Maybe he can see that I’m about to crush him. I thought this moment would be satisfying, but it feels bittersweet. “Tell him!” Anton yells, and I jump with fright.

Ace stands between Anton and Hulk, puffing his chest out and reaching to his full height. “We all need to calm down,” he says firmly.

Anton shakes his shoulders out, ridding himself of the tension that was written all over his face. “You’re right, Ace. Sorry.” He takes a deep calming breath and then smiles at Hulk. “We’re married, Hulk. You’re too late.”

  CHAPTER ONE

  Six months earlier...

  Piper

I slam the shot glass down on the shiny bar top and signal for the bartender to fill it up again. He eyes me before sighing and then topping up with Sambuca. “You should just leave the bottle here,” I slur and pick up the glass. The sticky liquid spills over my fingers, but that doesn’t stop me tipping the drink into my mouth.

“I think you should call it a night,” he suggests gently.

“I think that’s way above your paygrade,” I snap. “To stop me drinking, you’d need danger money.” He reluctantly tops up my glass again and then moves away. I watch him speak into his radio, and I scowl at him—Party pooper.

A girl dressed in next to nothing brushes past me as she reaches behind the bar and takes a bottle of Vodka. “I’m taking this for the girls,” she says, waving it at the bartender. He nods his head, barely looking in her direction as he speaks quietly into his radio.

I throw a twenty on the bar top. “Don’t worry. I’m leaving,” I snap. I stand and grip the bar to steady myself before following the girl with the vodka. We head backstage. She doesn’t notice me until I’m in the dressing room with her.

She smiles. “Are you the new girl?” I shrug and return her smile. This seems to be the right answer because she unscrews the cap and hands me the bottle. “You can go first then. Welcome to the team.”

A few minutes later, I’m introduced to some of the other dancers, and then I’m taken to another room where I’m given a sparkly outfit. I hold it up and close one eye to try and focus. There’s not much material there. “You need to be a much quicker, new girl. You’re up next.” A woman in jeans and a shirt turns me away from her and then helps me out of my top. It all happens so fast that the protests die on my lips.

Another woman joins her and helps me into the sparkly outfit. “I know you girls like a drink before you go out there, but don’t let the boss see how wasted you are right now. He’ll cut your pay and kick you out on your ass.” She tugs me back and forth to squeeze my boobs into the top.

“Now remember, just the top half tonight, we want them to come back and see what else you have to show them,” instructs the other woman. She takes my hand and drags me out of the room. “What's your stage name?” she asks.

“Oh, erm,” I hesitate. “I’m not a-” I begin, but she rolls her eyes impatiently and shoves me forwards.

I stumble a few steps, and when I turn around, I’m horrified to see the faces of men staring at me expectantly. A spotlight illuminates where I stand, and the audience begins to cheer and clap.

“Tonight gentlemen, we have a treat for you. Fresh outta college with her V card still intact…” a drum roll thumps in my ears and the crowd gets rowdier. “Meet Tonez’ very own Sweet-V.” More cheers and whistling ring out around the room, but now that I’m bathed in the spotlight, I can’t see their faces.

A low beat begins, and I recognize the song as ‘Pole Dancer’ by Wale. I laugh. The drunken me finds this whole thing hilarious. A voice somewhere off to the left of the stage hisses at me to dance, and so I begin to sway my hips. If my girls could see me now, they would freak. I laugh again. Maybe I’m losing my mind.

I close my eyes and let the beat of the music carry me away. It’s been a while since I did a sexy dance for a man, and I’ve never actually danced on a stage in front of lots of men. I’m pretty sure that when I sober up, I’ll regret every second of this, but right now, I need to feel free, and this is working. I move slow and sexy. I run my hands up and down my body occasionally cupping
my breasts. “Get the damn top off,” that voice hisses from the stage edge again. I hesitate. I’m not ashamed of my body, but damn, this was not part of my ‘get wasted’ plan for this evening. I make a snap decision. I’m already half-naked in this outfit, and no one knows me here, so I have nothing to lose. I whip off the sparkly gold top and drop it to the floor. More whistles explode around the room as my dance comes to an end. I go to leave the stage, but the woman standing there spins me back out. “You need to collect your money, girl,” she huffs impatiently.

The stage lights are off, and I feel more exposed now that I can see the faces of the audience. A security guy in a black suit is standing in front of the stage. He holds up a bunch of notes for me to take. “I collected them as you danced. You don’t want any of the other girls taking them on your first day,” he says with a wink.

“Thanks,” I smile and then leave the stage quickly.

I dress back into my own clothes, and then a vodka bottle is thrust into my hand. “How much did you make?” one of the women smiles that helped me change earlier.

“I haven’t counted it,” I say. I stuff the cash straight into my bag as the reality of what I’ve just done hits me hard. I gulp down some of the Vodka and then pass it back to the girl.

“I’m Ella, by the way,” she smiles, holding out her hand. “I help out backstage sometimes when they’re short-staffed, but usually, I work the bar.”

I shake her hand. “I’m Piper,” I offer feebly.

“The crowd loved you tonight. If this was your trial, then I think you’ve passed.”

“Who the hell are you?” another female voice snaps. I turn to see a tall red-head stalking our way. I look at Ella for help.

  “Piper,” I say.

“Well, I have a girl out back telling me she’s here for her trial tonight. I thought you said you were the new girl?”

Ella smirks but waits for me to speak. Before I can, a security man steps into the room. “Boss wants to see the new girl,” he grunts, and the red-head throws her hands up in despair.

  “Wouldn’t we all!” she huffs.

“I’ll just be off then,” I mutter.

“He means you,” the red-head snaps. “The boss wants to see you. God only knows what he’ll do to me, putting an amateur on the stage.”

“Come with me,” orders the security guy.

I glance at Ella again, and she holds her hands in the air. She’s still smirking. “You’re on your own with that one, I’m afraid.”

I follow him back through the bar and up some steps. We pass the turn for the VIP area, and instead, we stand at a door opposite with the words private office on the front. The guy knocks once and a deep voice tells us to enter. I wipe my palms on my trousers. I feel the alcohol wearing off with each step. He pushes the door open and stands to the side so I can enter. I glance at him nervously. How the hell has this night ended with me stripping on a stage and then being called into the office?

  Anton

I don’t bother to look up as Piper enters my office. I can smell the fear on her as she stands nervously by the doorway. I count the last of the cash and tie a band around the notes. I pick up the cash bundles and stuff them in the safe that sits behind my desk. I close it and then finally bring my eyes to Piper. “Take a seat,” I order her. She wobbles on her heels as she moves closer. When she realizes it’s me, she sucks in a breath. That explains why she danced in my club tonight. She wasn’t aware that I was the owner.

“Does daddy dearest know where you are tonight?” I ask. Piper shakes her head as she lowers into the large leather armchair that faces my desk. “How the fuck did you get out of a club that’s supposedly on lockdown?” The anger in my voice causes her to jump with fright. I spoke to Hulk for an update less than half an hour ago. Not once did he mention that the club princess had gone AWOL.

“They’re all really busy looking for Ace and Mae,” she mutters.

“Meanwhile, you’re here getting your tits out for money?” I grate out.

“That was an accident,” she almost whispers. “I didn’t mean for that to happen.”

I lean back in my chair and watch her fidget uncomfortably. “How the fuck do you dance on a stage in front of hundreds of men, get half-naked and not mean to do it?”

I think I see the hint of a smile before she chews down on her lip. “Well, I was having a drink at the bar, and I followed one of the dancers backstage. Somehow she thought I was a new dancer, and then I was kind of bustled onto the stage,” she pauses and then shrugs her shoulders. “Sorry.”

I laugh. I can’t help it. “So my girls forced you on stage? Is that what you’re telling me?”

Piper shakes her head. “Not exactly. It was a misunderstanding.”

“Well, my punters thought you were great. You’d better get back out there.” I pick up my pen and get back to my work. Piper remains in the seat staring at me. Eventually, I look back at her. “What?”

“It’s just, I can’t do that again. I didn’t mean to do it the first time.”

“But you did, and now you have to keep my punters happy. There have been a few requests for a private room dance. You’re not as protected in the rooms because they pay for privacy, but the money’s good.” I have no intention of letting her dance privately for anyone. The men that come here can be a little hands-on, and Hulk doesn’t need an excuse to start trouble with me. But I have another plan, and Piper is just the sort of girl that can help me out.

Piper looks at me wide-eyed. “Seriously, Anton. I really can’t do it again.”

I drop my pen and turn my laptop around to face her. Piper gasps and covers her mouth. “You look hot as hell up there,” I smirk. I let the recording of her on the stage play a little longer before I close the laptop.

“What would Bear and Queenie say to their daughter dancing in a strip bar? And, this isn’t the first secret I’ve been keeping for you, is it?” It’s a shitty thing to do to her right now. She must be hurting with her friend also missing, but I need her help, and I feel like this happened for a reason.

“The club has enough on their plate right now, Anton. Are you going to show them that when they’re all worried about Ace?” Her voice is wavering, and I think she might cry, but she squares her shoulders and leans forward. “I’ll tell Tag.”

I laugh. It unnerves her, and she fidgets. “You realize that Tag is below me, right? In the chain of command, I am the top. The very top!”

“What do you want from me?” she groans and I smile. Finally, she sees that I’m the one in charge. “I can’t go back out there and dance. Please don’t make me.”

I bridge my fingers and rub them over my lips like I’m thinking. “I need a date for tomorrow night. You will be my date.”

She looks surprised. “Date?” she repeats.

“Yes. Be ready for noon tomorrow. You’ll need to be fitted for a dress. I’ll have someone pick you up. Don’t let me down, Piper or I will send this recording to every member of the Rebellions.”

Piper scowls at me. “Right. Noon tomorrow it is then.”

There’s another knock on the door, and I order them to enter. Piper goes to stand, but I shake my head no, I haven’t finished yet. Paris struts in, flicking her long red hair behind her shoulder confidently. She glances at Piper with disdain. “I am so sorry, Mr. Martinez. I’m not sure what happened.”

“I am,” I snap. “You let a stranger walk in off the streets and dance in my club.”

“She said she was the new girl,” Paris argues.

“And you didn’t think to check it out with Michael?” Paris shakes her head. “You put all of my girls at risk tonight, Paris. That can’t happen.”

“Look, Anton. This was all my fault, I-” begins Piper. I hold up my hand to stop her from speaking and the words die on her lips. She gives Paris an apologetic look.

“Oh, I know whose fault this is, Piper,” I growl. “And trust me, you’ll pay too. Now get the hell out of here. Michael is waiting o
utside to drive you home.” She wastes no time in racing out of the office. Once she’s gone, I turn my attention back to Paris. “Now, where was I?”

“You actually know her?” she asks.

“Is there a reason you’re still talking?” I growl, and she presses her lips closed. She reaches for the thick rope that hangs on a hook on the wall and brings it to me.

She lowers to her knees and holds the rope out to me. “Sorry, Sir.”

I take the rope and stand. Slowly, I walk around Paris. Her breathing is heavy and fast. She’s excited, and the thought turns me on. I pull her arms behind her back and wrap the rope around her elbows. The movement pushes her breasts forward, and I tie her arms there to keep them in place.

I move back to her front and tug her top down so that her breasts are exposed.

Her greedy eyes watch as I unfasten my belt and lower my trousers until I’m able to free my erection. “It’s not like you to make little mistakes, Paris.” I rub my cock before reaching for a condom and ripping the packet open. “You took your eye off the ball.”

She keeps her eyes lowered to the floor. “I’m sorry, sir.”

I slide the condom down my impressive length and then gently run my hand over Paris’ long hair. I grip my fingers at the roots and tug her face forwards until her mouth is level with my cock. She opens automatically and flicks her tongue over the head. Paris envelopes my cock in her warm mouth. I close my eyes and let my head fall back.

We’ve been fucking for the last three months, and as surprising as it is, I’m still not tired of her. Her mouth expertly hollows with each suck until I feel the beginning of my orgasm. I thrust up, holding her head in place by her hair. I begin to shake and then I explode into the condom, growling as I cum hard. “Fuck,” I pant.

Paris smiles up at me and I release her hair. “I hope you’re not gonna punish the new girl like that?” she purrs. I tug on her exposed nipples and she hisses in delight.
